Vegan 'Dallas' actor Larry Hagman credits co-star Linda Gray for his transition

Many of us are one of millions who watched J.R. (Larry Hagman) in Dallas every week during the 1980’s or we watched the re-runs.

Last year, Larry Hagman bravely battled his way through a fight with throat cancer and during rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatment doctors suggested he change his diet to one which was dairy and meat-free.

Vegan and former T.V. wife Linda Gray helped Hagman transition to a plant-based diet.

Gray, happy that her long-time friend is doing so well, jokingly told the 81-year-old actor, “Shut-up! You’re gonna eat this food.”

“I was getting fed through a feeding tube and the best way to get something through that little tube is having vegetation – and I feel better for it now. I’m more agile . . . I’m doing pretty well. I like it (vegan diet) and I’m thriving on it,” remarked Hagman.

Hagman turned vegan last year and attributes his dietary changes to his good health and is currently cancer-free!
