Review and giveaway: Daiya is ooey, gooey and delicious

Daiya; what can I say? It’s ooey, gooey, and… it melts.  It is THE vegan alternative to animal milk cheese.

Products and flavors: Daiya has three flavors of cheese shreds: cheddar, pepper jack, and mozzarella. Also, recently added to their product line and worthy of applause, Daiya launched three flavors of cheese wedges:  JalapeƱo Garlic Havarti, Cheddar, and Jack.

What I tried: I couldn’t resist trying everything, so I did!

How I used Daiya: The wedges are melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and can be eaten right out of the package. Just cut into chunks and you have a delicious snack/appetizer. I also sliced up the wedges and added it to a vegetable panini, and a grilled quesadilla. And, for the first time in a few years, I made a grilled cheese (it tasted better than I remembered).  The shreds are perfect on pizza, baked potatoes, and casseroles. Wherever cheese is desired, Daiya belongs!

Why I love Daiya (and you will, too!): I love that Daiya is a company that is 100% vegan and very allergy friendly (Daiya is free from casein, whey, lactose, soy, gluten, eggs, rice, peanuts and tree nuts with the exception of coconut oil). This means that nearly everyone can enjoy this delicious, highly versatile cheese substitute without contributing to animal cruelty!
