Comedian Carol Leifer featured at second annual Tampa Bay Veg Fest

Attention South Florida vegans.

Comedian, writer, producer and vegan Carol Leifer will be the star attraction at the second annual Tampa Bay Veg Fest—Tampa’s only vegetarian/vegan festival.

Leifer, who will be speaking to festival attendees about her vegan lifestyle, famously said the following after transitioning to a plant-based diet a couple of years ago.

"I recently became vegan because I felt that as a Jewish lesbian, I wasn’t part of a small enough minority. So now I’m a Jewish lesbian vegan.”

Now that’s entertainment.

But the former Saturday Night Live and Seinfeld script writer is far from the only reason to attend the free one-day event that drew nearly 3000 people last year.

The Tampa Bay Veg Fest will also offer “vegan food from local restaurants, live music, popular guest speakers, eco-friendly exhibits, fun and games for kids, and animal adoptions.”

Great food, plenty of laughs and live music, what else could a fun-loving vegan ask for?

The second annual Tampa Bay Veg Fest takes place October 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park, 601 Old Water Street, downtown Tampa.

Want more good news? Companion animals on leashes are also welcome.
