Bob Harper fulfills egg craving, takes to Twitter to tell the world

Personal trainer and television personality Bob Harper apparently had a hankering for eggs yesterday and not only did he eventually fulfill this craving he also decided to announce his indulgence to the Twitterverse.

I woke up craving egg whites today so decided to have them....so crazy!! It's been so long.

That is “crazy” when you consider Mr. Harper is allegedly a vegan unless possibly the Biggest Loser star believes egg whites are somehow plant-based. Hey you never know.

Coincidentally one of Harper’s followers asked him that very question.

 r egg whites vegan? Just asking
@MyTrainerBob: NO

Well there goes that theory.

Oh that’s right Mr. Harper admitted during an interview last month with Star Magazine that he “cheats” on his vegan diet.

Look, nobody is perfect and I definitely have cheated but I don't beat myself up for it. I don't want life to be so regimented. If I want some cheese or something I definitely let myself.

So he definitely has fallen off the wagon before.

Back to the egg Tweet, yet another Twitter user asked Harper “was that your first non-vegan food since you went vegan?”

His response: YES!!!!!

Before the “oh oh here comes the vegan police” and “who are you to judge” comments begin to flow let me make something crystal clear, I don’t care what Bob Harper does in his personal life—social media is public by the way. As long as he is honest to those who follow him, in some cases almost religiously.

He is the one that calls himself a vegan, he is the one that joins Farm Sanctuary and decries the injustices done to animals and he is the one who cannot even be sincere to one of his loyal Twitter followers.

If Mr. Harper feels the need to Tweet or use magazine interviews as a type of confessional maybe it’s time to come clean, completely.

Just be a vegetarian, be proud of it and stop purporting to be vegan.

But unfortunately that wouldn’t allow for the “cheating” Tweets and the “I’m only human” declarations that appear to be designed as a way to make a normally unreachable television star seem more down to earth.

Unfortunately, though, it’s at the expense of an important movement, a movement that Bob Harper claims to be solidly behind.
