Dreamworks animator arrested for animal cruelty after beating neighbor's dog to death

Young Song, a Dreamworks animator credited for animal-themed films such as Shark Tale, Kung Fu Panda, Shrek: Forever After, and Madagascar 2 , has been accused of beating his neighbor’s German shepherd puppy to death with a hammer after shooting her with a pellet gun on April 20. He then dragged her body from the neighbor’s yard. The act was caught on surveillance video, yet Song pled not guilty to the felony of animal cruelty and the misdemeanor petty theft of a dog.

After watching the video, the Humane Society in Pasadena said that it is the worst case of animal cruelty that they have ever seen.

Paul Lofthouse, a neighbor, was shocked about the arrest and said that Song is a “very nice and kind person.”

Young Song is held on $40,000 bail and if convicted, faces up to four years in prison, which if you ask me, is not enough.
