Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman has made a decision that may not go over well with her vegan fans.
The 29-year-old former vegan—yes former—announced earlier today that she is no longer eating a 100 percent plant-based diet. Blame it on pregnancy.
"I actually went back to being vegetarian when I became pregnant, just because I felt like I wanted that stuff," Portman said during an interview Monday with the Q100 Bert Show in Atlanta. "I was listening to my body to have eggs and dairy and that sort of stuff."
And what reversion would be complete without mentioning the always controversial B12.
"I know there are people who do stay vegan,” Portman explained. "But I think you have to just be careful, watch your iron levels and your B12 levels and supplement those if there are things you might be low in in your diet."
For those of you boiling over with anger over Ms. Portman’s choice to return to vegetarianism take heart, well a little anyway.
She added, “I actually wanted eggs at the beginning and then they grossed me out after awhile.”
