What Vegans Eat: Gardein's Chik'n Good Stuff and salad

Share |

I RARELY buy foods from the freezer section anymore. When I do, it is frozen vegetables or Ezekiel bread. But, every once in a while I let myself splurge on a Gardein or Amy's dinner (not that it is REALLY even splurging when you look at the standard american diet).

Gardein “meats” are made from a combination of soy protein, vital wheat gluten and ancient grains (quinoa, amaranth, millet and kamut). I let a friend from work (who is not vegan) taste my lunch and she thought it tasted just like chicken. I could go on and on, but I will leave you with some pictures to drool over instead.

This particular dish is Gardein's Chik'n Good Stuff- if someone had blind-folded me and fed me this- I promise you, I would have guessed it to be the real thing. I dare my meat-eating friends to try it.. just once.. and tell me what you think!
