Flobeds attempts record for largest dog bed and biggest dog pile

Flobeds, pioneer in the eco-friendly mattress business and a market leader in organic, customized sleep systems, attempted to set two Guinness World Records over Labor Day weekend- the Largest Dog Bed and the Biggest Dog Pile. The record attempts were part of Paul Bunyan Days a Fort Bragg, California community festival that honors their timber history.

Flobeds built the dog bed from the same all natural materials they use in their organic mattresses. The bed measures 7 ft wide and 9 ft long, bigger than the largest Flobeds mattress designed for conventional use, and over ten times the size of a large breed dog bed. The cover is organic cotton quilted to organic wool and the pad is all natural Talalay latex, exactly the same as the matresses they make for people.

The dog bed was built at Flobeds and presented at the festival's kick-off party on September 3rd. The next day it was taken to another Paul Bunyan event, the 'Ugly Dog Contest' where 25 dogs climbed into the bed in an attempt to break another record, the Biggest Dog Pile. Both attempts where certified by local dignitaries.

When asked why he created the world's largest dog bed, Dave Turner (the man behind Flobeds) explained, "We think they are the perfect records for Flobeds and Fort Bragg's. We've been celebrating a larger than life logger for 71 years, and we were just named one of the most dog friendly dog towns in the country. What makes more sense than records for a really large dog bed and the biggest dog pile?"
