New Betty White show “Hot In Cleveland” renewed for 2nd season

Another success for funny lady and animal advocate Betty White—“Hot In Cleveland” has been picked up for a second season. Starring alongside White, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick will return as series regulars for the 20 new episodes which will begin production in October.

"We are so excited that 'Hot in Cleveland' was embraced by viewers in such a big way," said Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land. "We absolutely love the show and can't wait to see what hilarious new experiences these characters will encounter in the next 20 episodes."

“Hot in Cleveland” revolves around three best friends (Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick) whose plane—which was headed for Paris—crash lands in Cleveland, Ohio. Horrified at first, the ladies soon discover that they are the bee’s knees in C-Town and decide to lease a piece of “cheap real estate.” The trio is introduced to the property’s sassy and opinionated caretaker (Betty White) moments after the paperwork is signed.

The series, which is a true throw-back comedy with silly one-liners and charming character interaction, marks TV Land’s first foray into original scripted programming.

Season 2 of “Hot In Cleveland” is expected to return in January 2011.
