Lakers forward and former NBA Defensive Player of the Year Ron Artest will appear on a billboard supporting PETA’s ABC (Animal Birth Control) campaign.

The campaign targets the problem of animal over-population by promoting spay and neutering programs.

According to PETA nearly 4 million dogs and cats are put to death every year in U.S. animal shelters.

The billboard featuring Artest and his dog John Henry will be revealed later today in Los Angeles at 8238 Beverly Blvd.
