Animal Sanctuary to Open Doors for Turkey-Feeding,
Gourmet Vegan Dinner, Bonfire, & More!
Animal rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary, The Gentle Barn, puts on a Thanksgiving event to honor the turkeys, “A Gentle Thanksgiving”, Thursday, November 28th. Attendees will be invited to feed pie to turkeys, enjoy a gourmet vegan dinner prepared by Chef Christopher Haydostian and sponsored, in part, by Gardein, and participate in a Native American Drum Circle and bonfire.
“Come celebrate life, eat great vegan food, and spend time greeting our newly rescued turkeys while feeding them pie,” the sanctuary encourages on its site. “Support The Gentle Barn and at the same time break bread with us at our peaceful table in a different way this year.”
“A Gentle Thanksgiving” will occur at The Gentle Barn, located at 15825 Sierra Hwy, Santa Clarita, CA 91390, and takes place here.. Individual tickets, as well as family and sponsor tables, can be coordinated and come with gift bags, commemorative shirts, and more. Two lucky sponsors will each get to name a turkey. Registration is required to attend; to register, click
The Gentle Barn also encourages supporters and fans of the sanctuary to consider sponsoring a turkey. The Gentle Barn has six turkeys available to sponsor which have all been saved from being eaten on Thanksgiving. Sponsors will receive a photo of their new feathered friend. Email updates on how each sponsored turkey is doing will also be sent to sponsors every quarter. To sponsor a turkey, click here.
“I look forward to this compassionate event each year!”, says Ellie Laks, Founder of The Gentle Barn. “What could be better than feeding a turkey pie? Start a new tradition for your family and come join us!”
