US VegWeek 2013 kicks off on Earth Day, April 22

US VegWeek 2013 begins on Earth Day, April 22 running through the 28. US VegWeek was started by Compassion Over Killing 5 years ago with the ambition of dedicating a week each year to commit to eating meat free. The goal is to bring awareness to the great alternatives that are available that not only offer health benefits, but help to reduce our carbon footprint.

Many of you who subscribe to the This Dish Is Veg  are well aware of the benefits this change can have on your health and the earth. It is a good time to share this message with friends and family and see if they are up to the challenge. Please visit the US VegWeek 2013 webpage not only to sign up for the pledge, but to find great resource links and events near you.

Maryland John lives in Maryland where he works as a sales manager. John and his wife Eileen’s pursuit to achieve optimum health combined with a desire to send a strong message to factory farming, inspired them to examine what they put into their bodies. Now a vegan, John has great admiration for groups like Farm Sanctuary and hopes to influence others by sharing his positive experiences.
