It is nice when you see an item that happens to be vegan win an award; it is even better when it’s a vegan company that tops the veggie charts. But, it takes the cake when a great vegan business is acknowledged outside of the vegan community.
Congratulations to Vegan Treats, for being recognized by American Express as one of the best bakeries in the world! The bakery is the only vegan establishment featured in Departures, an online travel magazine produced by American Express, as a top stop for baked goods.
“This honor has proven that we can not only match the quality of a ‘traditional’ bakery but we can surpass it to be named one of the best in the world,” Joy Grant, Vegan Treats’ business manager, told the Bethlehem Patch. “The owner, Danielle Konya's mission has always been to satisfy the palate while respecting the integrity of all living species. Once again we've proven that compassion has never tasted so delicious.”
Departures shares that Vegan Treats peanut butter bomb “defies the perception that cutting out dairy means sacrificing indulgence.” The blurb goes on to say that the bakery's selection of desserts “makes a strong case for making the move to veganism.”
Planning a visit to Vegan Treats? You absolutely cannot go wrong while ordering, but I recommend getting the 'Chocolate-Encased Strawberry Shortcake' to go and sitting at the counter for some soft-serve ice cream!
If you're on the East Coast but don’t live near Bethlehem, PA there is no need to fret, look for a restaurant that serves Vegan Treats near you.
