Meet a vegan: Julia from Switzerland

Your name for all the world to see: Julia Feliz

Where you live: I currently live in Switzerland, but I am originally from the USA.

Why you went vegan: I went vegan about 5 years ago after I clicked on a link to the film "Earthlings." I went vegan about 5 seconds later, hah! I've never looked back. My only regret is not being aware sooner that veganism was and is an option for everyone. I went vegan for non-humans, but the more I researched veganism, the more I knew I had made the right change. Veganism is not only good for non-humans, it is great for the planet, environment, health, and people world-wide.

Your favorite vegan meals to cook or nosh on: At the moment, I am craving take-out from my two favorite local restaurants. One is an Ethiopian place that makes the best lentil dishes I have ever had! It's also really fun that you get to eat your meal in a traditional way - with your hands! My second favorite is a Chinese restaurant that makes the most amazing tofu and vegetable dish with a garlic and star anise sauce.

What do you do? I'm a biologist. I also enjoy working as a wildlife illustrator and in the past year, have become an avid charity knitter. My favorite day of the week is Saturday because I get to walk a shelter dog waiting for a loving new home.

How can people contact you? My art portfolio and my craftivist blog.
