VeganCorner aims to make being vegan 'easier': Co-founders look to raise $10,000

Imagine a website you can visit for user reviews and recommendations specifically related to all things vegan and cruelty-free?  No more searching through endless lists of irrelevant search results until you find what you're seeking.  That is just what Nathan and Adriana Pope, animal-rights activists and entrepreneurs, have created with their website, and soon to be released mobile app, Vegancorner.com.

It's the vegan's solution to the popular reviews website called Yelp.  Aside from reviews, users can also submit personal recommendations of environmentally friendly and cruelty-free products, share non-profit news, list vegan friendly events, as well as share other helpful vegan-related information for both vegans and those curious about the vegan lifestyle.

In addition, with a vast database of over 12,000 business profiles for businesses that offer vegan products and services, VeganCorner makes it easier for these establishments to connect directly with their target, loyal market.   Marketing through this website is "multi-directional" as users will be inclined to use the businesses that offer vegan options, while window cling decals in the store windows of participating businesses will drive traffic to the website.  Whether you're searching for a great place to eat cruelty-free, stores that carry environmentally friendly products and/or vegan apparel, or the nearest animal sanctuary, it's all in one place!

Adriana Pope, Co-Founder of VeganCorner, states: "VeganCorner was created as a way to make being vegan easier.  We found that despite huge jumps in available technology there still wasn't anything that was created specifically for vegans....Over the past couple of months we have listened intently to the feedback and suggestions of our users and have created a road map of the next steps that are needed to bring this site to where it needs to be."

VeganCorner was released to a limited audience in December and is now moving into the "hard launch" stage of development, and the co-founders need our financial help!  They have spent the last two years building this website, supporting it with their day jobs, as a free resource for vegans worldwide, but they've taken it as far as they can by themselves.  A fundraising campaign on IndieGoGo.com has been launched to help take VeganCorner to the next level.

Their funding goal is $10,000, which will be used in the following areas:
  • Hiring a qualified programmer who can "polish the website so that it looks and feels great in both functionality and usability."
  • Producing and distributing colorful window cling decals that say "Discover Vegan Options," making it easier to identify businesses that offer vegan options.
  • Creating a free smart phone app that will assist you in locating vegan-friendly businesses in or outside your local area.
As a vegan, how can the idea of this website not excite you?  Please consider helping out by visiting the IndieGoGo link above and making a financial contribution.  Any amount helps!  There are different pledge levels that offer rewards such as T-shirts, tote bags and a secret potluck invitation.  Wouldn't it feel great to say you helped fund a one-of-its kind website that made being vegan, that much easier?  Please also consider sharing this campaign on Facebook, Twitter, your personal blog, and/or any other form of social media.

Leanne Mai-ly , owner of Vaute Couture, said: "VeganCorner is an amazing new structure for connecting ethical business with those who care about living a lifestyle that makes the world a better place for animals...it's a great way to directly get us in touch & grow the vegan market to show the world how wonderful and easy it is to be compassionate and cruelty-free."
