NYC non-profit to launch Valentine's week adoption awareness campaign

During the week of Valentine's Day, the non-profit Rational Animal is launching a special adoption awareness campaign for New York City's homeless animals.

Over 75 posters will be distributed across all five boroughs and are designed to remind people of the importance of adopting from city shelters and rescue groups.

"Too many good dogs and cats are abandoned or brought to shelters not for any thing they did but mostly due to people issues," says Rational Animal founder Susan Brandt, "Divorce or people moving are common reasons -- unfortunately, it's very upsetting for the animals and the longer they stay in the shelters the more depressed they get. Through these posters we are reminding people that when they adopt from shelters, they are repairing a broken heart and saving a wonderful soul."
