Attorney and author, Allie Phillips' new book, "Defending The Defenseless: A Guide To Protecting and Advocating For Pets," is an invaluable resource for anyone interested in taking their love for their pets to the next level of passion and care.
In my last review I mentioned how I have often wondered if my advocacy and activism work would have a more profound impact if I had chosen to become a lawyer. Well, Allie Phillips has written the perfect book for me, and anyone else who is not a lawyer, but wants to work to make great strides in the fight for companion animal rights.
Chock full of practical tips on how to get involved, from volunteering at your local animal shelter to lobbying and fighting for animal law reform, opposing animal testing and experimentation, and one of my favorites, raising children with an awareness and respect for animals that in turn teaches them to protect their pets, and other living beings.
Phillips offers an in-depth and practical approach to taking action and getting results, regardless of one’s chosen career, and has written a book that will surely help solidify and expand the growing concern and commitment for the rights and well-being of all animals.
