Rachael Ray launches dog food company, donates $25,000 to needy pets over holidays

Rachael Ray did more than just cook for humans this holiday season -- she launched the pet food brand Nutrish, a healthy and natural product for consumers to feed their dogs, and she also set out to help homeless pets.

Rachael Ray and Nutrish had an extra $25,000 to donate over the holiday season, so they teamed up with PEOPLEPets.com to launch Rachael Ray's Shelter Helpers, where pet lovers and owners can help decide where the money will be donated.

Parents of rescued pets uploaded the cutest pictures of their furry family members, and the three finalists will be given the chance to decide which rescue organization is most deserving of the $25,000.

Keep checking PEOPLEPets.com to see the “cutest shelter helpers” and to find out which rescue organization gets the generous $25,000 donation from Rachael Ray and Nutrish.

All of the proceeds earned from Nutrish go toward “Rachael’s Rescue,” which helps animals in need. Over $2.5 million of Nutrish’s earnings have gone toward food, medical supplies and treatments for animals in need.
