Looking for a vegan wine to enjoy while ringing in the New Year? Look no further than CalNaturale Wine. Available in two blends, 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2009 Chardonnay, the wine was recently named one of the “Top 10 Red Wines $15 and Under” at the 2011 World Value Wine Challenge – the wine industry’s largest event that features value-oriented brands.

CalNaturale Wine is made from organically-grown grapes and is packaged in eco-friendly, re-closeable cartons.

According to the company:
  • CalNaturale Cabernet Sauvignon is a voluptuous and full-bodied, yet very approachable, wine that bears a single-vineyard designation from the French Camp Vineyard in the Paso Robles Appellation and delivers rich and intriguing flavors of berry fruits and the intense aromas of spicy black currants with a hint of French oak.
  • CalNaturale Chardonnay is cultivated in Mendocino County and is clear and vibrant with a hint of vanilla from lightly toasted oak; shows fruit to the very end with refreshing flavors of ripe apples, pear and a hint of citrus.
Of course, the wine is vegan. According to sources at Barnivore, the product contains no animal ingredients, and animal products are not used in the filtration process.

So where can you by this animal-friendly, eco-friendly adult beverage? Check your local supermarkets (Publix, Fred Meyer, etc.), liquor store or Whole Foods. For more information visit CalNaturale's website and follow them on Facebook or Twitter.
