Gardein releases meat-free recipe app for iPhone and iPad

Gardein, the makers of meat-free favorites such as Santa Fe Good Stuff and Thai Trio, is entering into the world of smartphones and iPads with a new free recipe app.

According to the Richmond, BC-based company:

Gardein’s recipe app features new seasonal and balanced meals including Gardein Summer Berry Salad, 5 Spice Gardein Chick’n Noodle Salad, Gardein Korean Soft Tacos and Gardein Spinach and Chickpea Salad to name a few. Users can search recipes by categories: appetizer, salad, soup, entrĂ©e or by product name. A shopping list and store locator (where to buy Gardein) is also included within the app.

Those of you who download the new application from the iTunes store will also have a shot at winning a new iPad or one of three runner-up prizes valued at $25 apiece by entering Gardein’s recipe app contest.

To enter the contest you can do one of the following:

1. Submit a photo of the Gardein app on your iPhone or iPad or computer,
2. Submit a photo of a Gardein bag in your kitchen
3. Submit a photo of your favorite Gardein meal.
4. Deliver a completed Gardein recipe to TDIV HQ (will result in a bonus entry)

Okay so I made up number 4 but you have to admit the three real ways to enter the contest are pretty easy.

But don't wait to enter, the recipe contest ends Sept. 30, 2011, so hurry on over to the iTunes app store, download a copy of the Gardein app and submit those photos.
