Vegan food company expands: $10 million plant to be built in Hood River Oregon

If you know Tofurky, you know Turtle Island Foods, a family owned company located in Hood River, Oregon, just one hour south of Portland. Turtle Island Foods has been dedicated to making organic, vegan, and kosher convenient foods for about 30 years.

The company has become so well known and popular among vegans and vegetarians alike, that the company is now expanding.

A $10 million food processing plant is in the works and will use solar power as a heating source. The facility will be 33,000 square feet and will double the companys employee count.

More than 4,000 grocery stores across the nation now carry Turtle Island Food products and the company estimates about a twenty-five percent increase in sales for this year.
