Cat falls 14 stories from New York City apartment, and lives

The weather is hot and windows are wide open, but make sure your cat doesn't fall from one of them this summer.

This exact scenario played out for Copper, a nine-year-old cat who recently fell from her New York City apartment building.

Copper survived a 14-story fall and suffered only a fractured foot when she landed on the street below. Even more surprising, she was able to limp away after the fall.

Owner Angela Lang and her family moved to the NYC apartment building in May, and they were fairly certain that Copper wouldn't be able to slide through the barely-opened windows. They were wrong, but thankfully Copper still had some of her nine lives left to spare.

Surely a fall from such a height uses more than one of a cat's nine lives but fortunately it didn't use all of them at once.
