Opera singer involved in Trader Joe’s throwdown acquitted of charges

Mezzo soprano opera singer Marcella Carprario, the mad slapper in the Trader Joe’s Vegan Pad Thai fray, was acquitted of all charges by a Manhattan judge according to the NY Post.

A doctor testified that Dr. Cathy London, the woman who met the business end of Carprario’s hand, suffered injuries including "ecchymosis" and "petechiae" on her face due to the slap—in other words she had a bruise and some minor hemorrhaging.

But apparently it was not enough to sway the judge in believing that the 37-year-old songstress meant to cause physical harm to Dr. London.

The fight began when London’s son attempted to block Carpario’s husband from reaching for a package of what must be the tastiest frozen Pad Thai on the planet. London then proceeded to join the jostle and that is when Carpario charged into action, cursed at the good doctor and then laid the smack down.

In what ended up being a brilliant legal move, Carpario refused to plea earlier this week.

Makes one wonder, is Trader Joe’s Frozen Pad Thai really tasty enough to scream, slap and eventually end up in court over? We are leaning toward doubtful.
