Dancing with the Stars finalist Chelsea Kane joins campaign to feed shelter dogs

Last week Disney star Chelsea Kane helped Pedigree launch its new campaign, Every Dog Deserves, that aims to provide 100,000 pounds of dry food to shelter dogs across the U.S.

The Dancing with the Stars finalist poured the “ceremonial first bowl” at the The Amanda Foundation in Los Angeles, a non-profit dog and cat shelter that received 10,000 pounds of food from the program.

"I'm so thrilled to be working with PEDIGREE," says Kane. "As a lifelong dog lover, I'm committed to doing everything I can to provide my dog everything she deserves. Being able to represent a program that shares my enthusiasm and strives to make a difference in the lives of dogs that need it most is so humbling."

The Every Dog Deserves campaign utilizes social media to determine the amount of dog food that will be donated—how 21st century of them.

Hop on over to Facebook.com/pedigree or @PedigreeUS on Twitter and tell the Mars Inc.-owned company what Every Dog Deserves and Pedigree will provide one pound of food to shelter dogs, up to 100,000 pounds in total.

Or you can visit your local shelter and donate food or money in person, the choice is yours.
