Candle Café to release line of frozen vegan entrees

Here’s some great news that might make some of those celebrities who've recently ditched their vegan diets to reconsider. The stalwart New York City vegan restaurant Candle Cafe, sister to the venerable Candle 79, is rolling out a line of frozen entrees this June. The products will be available exclusively at Whole Foods, and sell for around $5.99 each.

The line will include an entree they are famous for, Seiten Piccata with lemon Caper Sauce, as well as other dishes inspired by their menu including Ginger Miso Stir-fry, Macaroni & Vegan Cheese and Tofu Spinach Ravioli.

Here’s hoping more of our favorite vegan restaurants will get into the frozen and packaged food business. It could prove to be a lucrative venture as the vegan market has grown significantly in recent years as more Americans are becoming aware of the rapid rise in heart disease and diabetes.
