Amy's Kitchen expands operations into the east, will create 700 jobs in Greenville SC

The Greenville, South Carolina area has recently seen a corporation retract their original plans to move into the region but Amy's Kitchen seems like a guarantee. The vegetarian frozen food producer recently announced plans to build a plant and offer about 700 jobs over the next 6 years.

CEO Andy Berliner says the east coast plant will be built and run in addition to the already-established multiple west coast plants located in California and Oregon, plus one that's operating in England.

"Greenville County provided us with an excellent site and an existing structure suiting our needs," Berliner said in a statement. "The state of South Carolina offered us a positive business environment as well as exceptional market access."

The business is in its 23rd year and produces packaged vegetarian foods, both frozen and not. It will remodel a currently existing plant and will start hiring for new jobs this summer.
