Animal advocate Betty White to host and produce new show

It seems America's got a new sweetheart, and we've found her in animal advocate/mega superstar Betty White. Proving that age really is nothin' but a number, the 89-year-old doyenne of comedy is at it again, this time in a senior-citizen prank show commissioned by NBC, called "Off Their Rockers."

According to the network's executive vice-president, Paul Telegdy, White will be the host and executive producer of the program. The hidden camera comedy is based on the Flemish series "Benidorm Bastards," which "follows a group of elderly jokesters who make it their mission to play pranks on unsuspecting younger people."

"Betty White is a comedic genius who escalates hilarity in any situation," Telegdy said. "Viewers will thoroughly enjoy watching her pull one over on the unsuspecting youth of America."

White is also still the resident comedic relief on the breakout sitcom "Hot in Cleveland," and has been a fixture in the media for some time now. In her signature style, she commented, "People have been telling me that I'm off my rocker for years. Now I can prove it."
