Police officer pepper-sprays baby squirrel outside of a middle school

A police officer was recently videotaped pepper spraying a baby squirrel outside of a middle school in Mesquite, Texas.

The officer claims that he thought that the evil, monstrous, little squirrel was rabid and charging after students. He says he was trying to protect the students; the same children who were heard in the video begging the man to not spray the poor baby animal.

According to the students, a school official had kicked the squirrel before the film was captured.

The police force in Mesquite defended the officer, letting the cruelty go without punishment.

After the incident, animal control authorities cared for the squirrel and later released her back to the wild.
