Eating out as a vegan: Restaurant recommendations

Nothing freaks out your family or co-workers more than you, a vegan, being able to eat in "normal" restaurants. As long as you stay away from Red Lobster or the TGI Friday's, you can have a decent vegan meal!

Feeling All-American?  Check out Denny's new veggie burger with fries.

Italian food chains offer some of the best vegan dishes; try Bucca Di Beppo for delicious bruschetta, veggies and pasta. The last time I was there, they even offered Yellowtail Shiraz, a vegan red wine. The bread and pasta are animal-free and tasty at The Macaroni Grill.

Fresh-Mex places like Chipotle or Rubio's Mexican Grill are a godsend to us vegans. They have fresh toppings like guacamole, house-made salsas, fajita veggies with beans and rice, what else could you ask for?

If all else fails, make sure the place you're being dragged to has a salad bar.

Leave a comment and let us know what restaurant chains you recommend.
