Suzy Amis Cameron, wife of Avatar and Titanic director James Cameron, is currently accepting entries in her second annual Red Carpet, Green Dress contest. The competition, which is intended to “stimulate sustainable design, global green education, and raise funds for MUSE Global and the non-profit MUSE School Ca,” gives aspiring designers the opportunity to create the ultimate “green” dress to be worn by Amis Cameron on the Red Carpet during the Oscars. All gowns must be made from sustainable material—natural, organic or recycled—and will be judged solely by Amis Cameron.
“Red Carpet Green Dress provides an amazing opportunity to aspiring designers and perfectly connects to MUSE’s global green philosophy by applying environmental awareness to our everyday lives,” said Amis Cameron.
Applicants can submit sketches via the Red Carpet, Green Dress website, along with a $75 entry fee which benefits MUSE. The contest ends on Wednesday, February 2 at 5 p.m. PT.
Last year Jillian Granz, a senior at Michigan State University, won top honors in the first annual Red Carpet, Green Dress contest.
