Phil Mickelson's vegetarian diet stuck in the sand trap, permanently

Back in November we reported that Phil Mickelson was having “second thoughts” about his new vegetarian diet, well the second thought must have been Five Guys inspired.

Yes it’s true, Lefty is a vegetarian no more.

"I was a strict vegetarian for five months, and that went okay but ultimately, it was doomed to fail," Mickelson said during a news conference on Wednesday. "I learned a lot from that as far as eating habits and diet and so I've implemented a lot of the things from that.”

The 2009 Masters Champion at the very least will try to cut down on the meat and infuse a few more greens into his new non-vegetarian diet.

"I continue to eat a lot more vegetables than I have in the past and I'm trying to have a better balance now than instead of all protein.”

The 34-year-old PGA star decided to give veg a try last year after being diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis.
