New York Times best-selling author and wellness expert Kathy Freston is back at it again. Freston's newest effort, Veganist, a book about food, health, and the environment is due to be released next month.
Freston's philosophy promotes a mind/body/spirit approach to wellness which includes a vegan dietvegan diet that she adopted in her 30's. She has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Ellen, The View, Good Morning America, and is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post.
Freston says "Veganist" is a word she uses to describe someone who looks closely at all the implications of their food choices and then chooses to lean into a plant-based diet. The book provides readers "ten game-changing promises" that leads to a more whole food, vegan diet, which aids in weight loss, reduces risk of disease, and makes the world a more peaceful livable place.
Freston's career focus began when she left an abusive relationship and found meditation to aid in the recovery process. She started making her own meditation tapes and came to the realization that these tapes could benefit other people as well.
Her 2008 best seller Quantum Wellness was a milestone for me, helping me move from eating vegetarian to eating vegan. Within Quantum Wellness I discovered a "21 Day Vegan Cleanse" that stripped out the cheese and dairy I was still consuming. I was amazed how easy it was to move to the next level of healthy living.
Veganist hits bookshelves February 8, 2011.
Editor's note: The book apparently is already in stock at Amazon.
