Unique pig lands role in Hugh Jackman sci-fi movie

A unique pig, Dottie, will be starring next to Hugh Jackman in the $80 million science fiction robot boxing film, Real Steel, that is set to be released in 2011.

Keith Porath gave Dottie to his wife, Kim, on her 35th birthday. Kim remembers Dottie as the runt of the litter, but she quickly grew to be a large hog with red and black spots.

Her unique look caught the attention of the directors of Real Steel and they cast her in a role for the opening of the film. The film was being shot near Giegler’s Feed-Seed, owned by the Poraths, in Hartland Township, Michigan.

“They told us they might need a pig in the movie, and they looked around our farm and picked Dottie,” Kim Porath said. The members of the Porath family will also be in the film as extras.
