Chrissie Hynde looks to Melbourne for next restaurant opening

Chrissie Hynde may have came ‘back to Ohio’ when she decided to open her first restaurant, VegiTerranean, but now the Pretenders singer is eyeing a location far from Akron for her second vegan establishment.

While on tour in Australia, Hynde penned an open letter to the citizens of Melbourne expressing her apparent fondness for the city and her interest in opening a vegan restaurant down under.

“Been exploring Melbourne.  Mainly nosing around to figure out if my vegan restaurant would fly here. I think it would. Yes, a Vegiterranean in Melbourne," said Hynde.  “Local produce, local investors, local flavour. There's nothing like it here and I think the climate is perfect - progressive, health conscious.”

“Yes, I hope we'll be seeing a Vegiterranean here in the next year or two. Then I will have more reason to spend time here. Learn how to be friendly and relaxed like you all are.”

This is great news for our friends in Australia, but a piece of advice from an Akron area native, make sure you make reservations and also check your wallet to ensure that it is properly stocked prior to sitting down for dinner service. You’ll definitely need it.
