Drink up: Juice Beauty cleansing milk a fresh-faced wonder

Share |

Finding certified organic skincare products is getting a lot easier these days, but locating brands that actually do the job that they promise can be hit-or-miss. Sadly, those who are willing to plunk down more money for formulations free of synthetic chemicals aren’t guaranteed the visage of a flawless supermodel, a reality that seems just about as unfair as celebrities prancing around with uber-bikini-bods just 4 weeks after giving birth.

If you’re one of those eco-minded consumers who tries infinite skincare brands and yet you still feel as though there must be something greener on the other side of the fence – if only you could find it – lean in a little closer. Don’t be shy…I’m about to tell you a little secret. Aside from squirting fresh fruit juice in a mortar & pestle and mashing your own just-plucked, organically-grown botanicals into it, the next best thing guaranteed to bestow convenient, safe skin cleansing is going to be found in a Juice Beauty container.

You’ve probably heard the name before, but have you ever tried their cleansing milk? Rather than stripping the skin as so many conventional and even organic versions are prone to doing, Juice Beauty’s creamy white soap-free certified organic formula works with rather than against your skin type. It weightlessly glides on and as you massage it into your face, the subtly sweet scent of white grape and raspberry juices are released.

Blended with grapeseed oil and aloe vera, the gentle cleanser contains a total organic content of up to 98% which – considering the fact that our skin absorbs roughly 60% of the topical agents that we apply – is a very good thing, indeed. Remarkably, with no parabens, petroleum, propylene, butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances in sight, it still manages to do a bang-up-job of removing all traces of eye makeup.

The real test comes when you rinse Juice Beauty’s Cleansing Milk off, pat your face dry and then wait a few minutes. With so many products, following this simple ritual inevitably reveals those tell-tale patches of flaky skin but in this case there was no evidence of parched, desert-like conditions. Chalking it up to a fluke, this reviewer washed, rinsed and repeated twice daily (multiple days in a row juuuuuust to be sure) and found that the hydration was consistent, with dewy-soft skin emerging every single time. Need any better reason to get juiced? Didn't think so ;)
