Survey finds that pets influence holiday travel plans

Family vacations, for many people, also include pets! According to leading pet transportation provider, PetRelocation.com, 71% of surveyed pet owners say that "pets are part of the family and should be with the rest of the family during holiday occasions."

In their first annual holiday survey of more than 7,000 pet owners worldwide, PetRelocation.com found that 85% of people who travel with pets for the holidays say their pets influence how far they'll travel and where they'll choose to stay. Seventy-one percent of pet owners whose pets accompany them on vacation travel within their state of residence for the holidays; 28% travel out of state and 63% of respondents travel at least 50 miles with their pets.

In addition, 42% of pet owners said that keeping their pets calm and stress-free was their main challenge while traveling; 28% named "finding pet-friendly transportation or airlines" as another major challenge during the holiday season.
