In a recent video posted on YouTube, Jack Johnson sings a little ditty reminding fans that “there’s no need to be such a fancy pants, put down the plastic water bottle and give the kids a chance.” The singer joins a handful of other celebrities including Daphne Zuniga, Ed Begley Jr, Benicio del Toro, Jackson Browne, and Yareli Arizmendi in an effort to end plastic pollution.
The short spots were filmed for the Plastic Pollution Coalition as part of the TEDxGreatPacificGarbagePatch—an event that took place November 6—which brought “the insidious devastation of plastic pollution to the forefront of the media debate” with notable leaders and artists all coming together to develop a plan to eradicate the pollution caused by plastics.
