Facebook page created for chicken saved from slaughter by Kansas teen

Thanks to everyone for the response to the story last Friday about Whitney Hillman, the 16 year old high school student who saved her pet chicken, Chicklett, from slaughter.

Kansas teen saves pet chicken from slaughter

A lot of you wanted to know how you can support Whitney and Chicklett. A Facebook page has been created for Chicklett under the name of Chicklett Chicken-Hillman, so go check it out and send a friend request to a chicken!

From Chicklett's bio:
I was part of a school project and I was one of dozens of chickens intended to be slaughtered on Monday 10/11/2010. I am the only survivor of the horrific chicken apocalypse. I am ALIVE and well on a farm thanks to one brave student who defied the rules to stand up for me and for herself. She stole me from the classroom Monday just minutes before my scheduled death. She wrote an essay explaining the reasons she did what she did and left one for her teacher and one for the principal. There was no changing classes by the time this "death" project began, no permission slips and no warnings. She raised me, she named me, she loved me, she stood up for me and I owe her my life.

Additionally there is a petition available at Change.org. Go here to sign the petition.
