McDonald's to pay worker $17.5K for making him obese

Here’s a story about a meal that didn’t make anyone happy.

A former McDonald’s franchise manager was awarded $17,500 by a Brazilian court last week after he sued the fast food giant for causing him to gain 65 pounds while on the job.

The 32-year-old man claims he gained the weight due to feeling forced to eat the food every day to ensure quality standards since McDonald’s hires mystery shoppers to randomly visit restaurants and report on the food, service and cleanliness.

On top of sampling the regular fare, the man also partook in the free lunch perk the company offers, adding to his daily caloric intake.

McDonald’s claims it offers healthier meal choices and is considering appealing the case.

I am guessing that this not a happy outcome for McDonald’s and if the results from this case have the company’s brass wondering if all of the patrons and employees they have made fat and sick with their food will eventually sue them.
