Glee star Lea Michele has been featured in an article for where she credits her animal free diet for keeping her slim. Changing her diet after reading the 2005 book Skinny Bitch, Michele's decision to become vegan was not an easy one.

"Coming from an Italian family, you can imagine (they) couldn't understand. But they respected my decision," she explained in the June issue of Women's Health.

Nowadays, the star is happy to speak out for animal rights and is working with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Michele says, "I'm so honored I get to work with PETA every single day. Being on a television show that has such wonderful fans as we do, the fact that I have the opportunity to speak out about the things I believe in and that maybe someone will listen, I feel, is the biggest honor."
