ChicoBag, in collaboration with Green Halloween, is hosting its 3rd annual children’s Trick-or-Treat bag design contest which aims to promote safe, healthy, and eco-friendly Halloween festivities.
The contest is open to children ages 1-13 who are asked to create a design that best captures the "Spirit of a Green Halloween" using the ChicoBag design template. Winning concepts will be printed on next year's ChicoBag Trick-or-Treat bag and are also eligible for cash prizes and eco-goodies.
“This is a contest that we look forward to every year,” said ChicoBag President Andy Keller. “We get really inspired by the designs these talented kids submit. It’s a wonderful glimpse into the future of sustainability when we see how much these children already understand about reusing what we have and their awareness of our finite natural resources.”
Participants can download the bag template [pdf] from ChicoBag’s website and send finished designs and signed agreements via email (jpeg or pdf format) to firstname.lastname@example.org or snail mail (print format) to ChicoBag Company, c/o Halloween Contest, 349 Huss Drive, Chico, CA 95928.
The winning design from last year's contest is printed on the 2010 Halloween bag and is made from lightweight, machine washable material that holds up to 25 pounds of goodies. The Halloween bag is available in two designs and can be purchased at chicobag.com and at select retailers nationwide. ChicoBag will donate 10% of the proceeds from each bag directly to Green Halloween, a non-profit, grassroots community movement to create healthier and more sustainable holiday traditions, starting with Halloween.
The contest runs through Halloween. All entries must be received by November 5, 2010. For more information and rules visit ChicoBag.
