CNBC to premier ‘Trash Inc: The Secret Life of Garbage’ on September 29

A wrapper here, some food scraps there, we all know how quickly our garbage bins fill up each week. But have you ever stopped to think about what happens after the garbage man—forgive me, Sanitation Engineer—dumps your rubbish into the back of his truck and drives away?

Thanks to the folks at CNBC we will get a peek inside the $52 billion a year garbage industry as Squawk Box co-anchor Carl Quintanilla takes a look at garbage—more than 250 million tons of trash is generated the United States each year—showing us “how we create it, how we get rid of it, and how we often just put it out of sight all at significant cost to individuals and society alike.”

Trash Inc: The Secret Life of Garbage will first air on Wednesday, September 29th at 9 p.m. ET and repeat that evening at 10 p.m., 12 a.m., and 1 a.m. An additional airing can be seen on Sunday, October 3rd at 10 p.m. ET.
