In response to consumers requesting products made with natural ingredients, Pepsi-Cola has transformed its lemon-lime soda Sierra Mist into Sierra Mist Natural. Touting the new product as “The Soda Nature Would Drink if Nature Drank Soda,” Sierra Mist Natural contains only 5 ingredients: carbonated water, sugar, citric acid, natural flavor, and potassium citrate.
As you can see from the list, the new soda forgoes the traditional high fructose corn syrup and uses the increasing popular real sugar.
“New Sierra Mist Natural has been stripped of everything artificial and is naturally sweetened with real sugar so that the crisp, clean taste of lemon-lime shines through,” said Kristina Mangelsdorf, Vice President of Natural and Flavored Sodas at PepsiCo. “It’s a BIG, bold innovation that shakes up the world of sodas with its surprisingly authentic simplicity -- making Sierra Mist Natural a beverage that’s in line with the times and consumer preference.”
In order to support the brand, television ads will appear during high profile programming such as Dancing with the Stars and The Event, targeting the 25-39 year old consumer. Additionally print ads will be seen in a variety of publications as well as on bus shelters and billboards.
Sierra Mist Natural is currently available in grocery stores nationwide.
