Lady Gaga explains meat dress worn at MTV VMAs on Ellen show

On the season eight premier of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Lady Gaga—wearing the same meat dress she donned while accepting the Video of the Year award at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards—explains why she feels the need to dress herself in pieces of animal flesh.

“Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian,” Lady Gaga clarifies. “As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth. However, it has many interpretations. For me this evening, if we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights pretty soon, we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on own bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”

To counter Lady Gaga's obsession with meat, Ellen presents the 24-year-old with a veggie bikini and skirt.

  1. Um. OK. Then why not wear a dress made of cotton balls? Or stamps...

  2. Gaga is just plain nuts. Why we as a society give attention to such freaks is beyond me.

  3. I was just saying to my hubby this morning how I just don't really like her. I don't like her music and we think that she is trying to take a lot of things that Madonna did from quite a long time ago and do them over again. For her to wear a meat dress...uh, yeah, she just was either heartless in not thinking about how her fans would feel about it or just plain coo-coo!!

  4. I still think she's sexy.

  5. Imagine how that "dress" smells by now. Gross on so many levels.

  6. Still don't think her explanation makes any sense at all. But as Ellen countered on her website (directed at all the people who claimed to find it repulsive): "how is wearing that dress different from wearing leather?". Way to go, Ms. DeG!

  7. "Lady" gag me is just some chick from Indiana somewhere. She simply has great management.
She'll soon see that being famous isn't all fun and games.
