PETA to Arizona citizens: ‘No one should need papers’

With immigration at the center stage in Arizona, PETA is placing a new billboard in Phoenix that encourages people to open their hearts to the “undocumented”—dogs of course.

The billboard reads, “No one should need papers. Adopt an 'undocumented' mutt today!”

"Arizona, like every other state in the nation, has more 'undocumented' dogs and cats than it has good homes for them," says PETA Vice President Daphna Nachminovitch. "Lineage papers or not, the heart and loyalty of each animal companion is the same. People who are considering welcoming a dog or cat into their homes should always adopt and never buy."

PETA insists that dogs should not need AKC papers to be welcomed into our homes and reminds us that 6 to 8 million cats and dogs enter animal shelters annually with approximately half of those animals euthanized due to an insufficient numbers of homes.
