Chegg.com launches sweepstakes to reward college students for renting textbooks

Share |

Starting today Chegg.com, an online textbook rental company, is offering a sweet deal for college students who rent books from the company through September 13. Each rental will enter the student into the Golden Chegg Sweepstakes for a chance to win one of three grand prizes–a mtvU Spring Break 2011 VIP Trip, GRAMMY U Experience, and $5,000 cash for college.

Additionally, a thousand instant prizes will be awarded including an Apple iPad, Nikon Coolpix Camera, FlipCam Ultra, Powermat Portable Mat, and Epiphone Explorer GT Electric Guitar.

"As the price of education continues to rise, college students and their parents dream of a more affordable education,” said Dan Rosensweig, President and CEO of Chegg.com. “At Chegg, we know that students are working hard, so we want to lower their costs, make their life easier and find ways for them to have some fun!"

As most eco-conscious people know, renting books isn’t only a smart choice because of cost, but also because of the environment. To ensure an even greater positive impact, Chegg.com plants one tree for every student rental –an initiative made possible through American Forests’ Global ReLeaf program. To date, the textbook rental company has planted over 4,000 acres of trees.
