Donations needed to transport cancer patient’s cats from Saudi Arabia to U.S.

UPDATE: The total funds have been raised.  Carol's cats should be in her arms by next weekend.  Again, we wish Carol the best and know her kitties will lift her spirits as she continues aggressive medical treatments.

Carol Fleming, author of the blog American Bedu which details her experience as an American living in Saudi Arabia, was forced to leave her beloved cats behind when she and her husband were both diagnosed with cancer and travelled to the U.S. for medical treatments. Sadly, Carol’s husband lost his battle with leukemia earlier this year and the former American diplomat remains in the states for continued treatment of breast cancer.

Friends of Carol have rallied together to launch “Project Bring Carol’s Cats Home” in hopes of raising enough funds to transport her two cats—whom she hasn’t seen in 18 months—from Saudi Arabia to North Carolina. Friends have donated toward the cause but they are still short of the $1,600 goal.

Carol’s website moderator writes, “We all know how dear those cats are to Carol and bringing them to her will bring her joy and lift her spirits as she faces the challenges of her treatment.”
