Congratulations are in order for Olympic snowboarder—and vegetarian— Hannah Teter for receiving VH1’s “Do Something” award for her work to improve the lives of children around the world through Children International and her own charity, Hannah’s Gold. The VHI award is given to individuals under 25 for their commitment to social change.
The 23-year-old humanitarian currently supports seven impoverished children through Children International and donates 40% of the proceeds from the sales of her Sweet Cheeks Panties to the organization’s international feeding program.
“There are so many children who barely get enough to eat. Children International can feed a child for a month in their feeding program with the proceeds from the sale of one pair of Sweet Cheeks,” said Teter.
Children International’s President and CEO Jim Cook said, “Children International is grateful to Hannah Teter for her ongoing compassion for impoverished children around the world. Hannah is richly deserving of the VH1’s recognition as a “Do Something” award recipient and we salute her for this achievement and her good work!”
Teter became a vegetarian over a year ago after viewing the award-winning documentary “Earthlings.”
