Doodle 4 Google national winner doodles to save the rainforest

The third annual Doodle 4 Google contest asked children to answer, "If I Could Do Anything, I Would..." This year’s national winner doodled to save the rainforest.

Third grader Mackenzie Melton explains her Doodle, “I chose this doodle because the rainforest is in danger and it is not fair to the plants and animals. I love everything except spiders and snakes, but I would still save them.”

Google said, “Makenzie’s colored-pencil creation beautifully embodied this year’s theme.”

Makenzie was awarded with a $15,000 college scholarship, a netbook computer, and a $25,000 technology grant for a new computer lab at her school—El Dorado Springs R-2 Schools in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
