Voting opens for Dunkin Cruelty’s favorite vegan donut contest

In the latest campaign to get Dunkin Donuts to stop perpetuating the animal cruelty exposed at one of the company’s egg suppliers, Compassion Over Killing (COK) asked supporters to take part in Dunkin’ Donuts 2nd annual “Create Dunkin’s Next Donut Contest” by submitting a vegan donut idea.

After receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from vegan donut designers nationwide, COK decided to team up with Vegan Treats in Pennsylvania to actually create the most popular donut and sell the delicacy in its store.

A panel of experts including Compassion Over Killing's Erica Meier, Vegan Treats’ Danielle Konya, Vegan.com’s Erik Marcus, VegNews’ Elizabeth Castoria, and Ecorazzi/VegDaily’s Michael Parrish DuDell, reviewed over 100 entries and selected 12 finalists.

Now it’s up to supporters to make the final call and choose their favorite vegan donut from the list of cruelty-free finalists. With delights such as Vegan Feelin' Good Apple Fritter, Vegan Velvet Elvis, Vegan Morning S'mores, and Vegan Coconut Éclair, the decision is a difficult one but must be made before polls close on May 21.
